So how does this Bible in 2008 thing work anyway? I'm glad you asked. Download and print out the Bible in 2008 reading plan (to place near your bible). Start reading on 1 Jan 2008, and follow the plan til 31 Dec 2008.Use the resources provided on biblein2008.com to help you along the way.
And that's about it!. Remember that the purpose of this project and site is primarily to start and support your journey through the bible in 2008 - the actual reading and daily discipline can only come from yourself.
Also, there's no registration or anything of that sort involved. But you are encouraged to register and create an account with us, because that allows you to take part in our forums where you can share, ask, and discuss any thoughts you had on specific bits in the bible. The resources that this site will provide to support your bible reading are: A forum - for you to share inspiring thoughts, ask questions, discuss issues; threads will be grouped within each bible book. A weekly reflective blog - where we will look at the readings of the week past (or the week to come) and explore what's been going on in the big bible picture and what lessons God's trying to teach us. Articles - feature writings covering a variety of issues related to bible reading. Food for thought, basically.
Please make full use of these resources, and I wish you all the best with bible reading! Most of all, remember why you're doing it - not to impress anyone, not just so you can say "I've read the entire bible!", but because a loving God has spoken to us, and we His people want to listen. |
